Dimi Spano

lending consultant

Dimi has joined Integrity Finance as a lending consultant. This means she helps your broker get you the best possible loan and that you get approved as quickly and smoothly as possible. When we are processing a loan, there is a lot of work that happens between meetings and phone calls.

Dimi has over 30 years’ experience in banking working with one of the four major banks. The last six years working at Premium Banking as a lending/relationship manager, and then as a lending coach, providing lending guidance and coaching to Premium Banking Relationship Managers.

Included in that experience is over 20 years working in commercial finance, assisting business owners work through often complicated scenarios which could involve combinations of business, home and investment loans. Whilst working in commercial banking as a recognition for a good job done, Dimi was invited along with other successful commercial managers to travel to Sydney where she met the major bank executive team and participated in the harbour bridge climb.

1.     What is a career (or personal) highlight?

When I was at that major bank, I was recognised in having strength with lending and was asked to apply for the lending coach role, to coach other bank staff and help them with their lending applications.

It was really satisfying to know that my skills were recognised appreciated by my employer.

2.     What inspires you at work?

The little things. Recently we helped a couple who never thought they would own a home buy their first home. They sent the team here a really sincere and heartfelt thank you note about how we helped them achieve their dreams. It lights up my heart to know we make a difference.

3.     What do you most enjoy about working at Integrity?

Everybody is very professional, and really cares about helping customers. The loan process is made easier for clients, and the opportunity to change people’s lives is something we do every day.

The name of the business ‘Integrity’ also describes the values of the people here, and it has a great work culture, which makes it a very enjoyable workplace.

4.     Outside of work what do you love to do?

I enjoy catching up with family and friends over dinner and a glass of wine, or even brunch and a cup of coffee.

I enjoy watching movies or reading a good thriller. I love the outdoors, especially going to the beach. During the Christmas break I enjoy spending quality time with my family at the beach, catching some waves, and eating local seafood, and lots of shopping whilst the boys are out fishing for our dinner.

5.     What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

I have received a lot of advice from my wonderful parents growing up including

  1. Be kind!

  2. Treat others the way you want to be treated!

  3. Have respect!

  4. You never know what life brings us!

  5. Always make time for the elderly as one day we will be elderly as well!

  6. Never be afraid to speak your mind!

  7. It is not what you say, but how you say it

  8. You attract more bees with honey!
